Pricing & Shippingand a few other business matters |
Well, the good news is that the prices are low...there really isn't any bad news. |
Pricing, and how to save even more:As you might expect, if the package is oversized we need to charge for that. There's a $20 minimum order for bars. If you buy whole boxes of bars, you'll save 5%. Shipping:Shipping is pretty straighforward. But remember, you'll be saving a lot on the stretcher bars. For those of you who remember the good old days of free shipping, we regret that has taken the same path as $2.00 a gallon gas. Carriers have justifiably rased their prices, leaving us a choice between raising the price of the bars or trying to keep pace with shipping charges; we felt it would be more equitable to make modest price increases in shipping. Even with the current changes, we're still not close to what it actually costs us to ship the majority of larger packages, so it's still quite reasonable. Shipping & Packing Charges:
If you order long stretcher bars that dip into the oversized package charge or if the order is so large that it requires special freight handling, SBW will apply a shipping surcharge set by the carrier. With large shipments, we'll try to find the best method to save you time and money with your shipment. IMPORTANT: Oversized Boxes Boxes from 60" up to 72" are oversized and incur an extra $15 charge. Wish it wasn't that way, but.... Boxes from 72" up get nailed for $25. A quick note about the sizes that sometimes fall into this oversize charge: Obviuosly, it's the length of the box that matters when shipping and not the length of the longest stretcher bar. To protect the mitre tips of the bars, we need a few extra inches on each end for padding and the thickness of the box's overlaps. This means that a 56" bar would most likely wind up in a 60" box and a 68" bar in a 72" box. Make sense? Our freight carriers require a physical address, so no post office boxes, please. Be sure to give us plenty of ways to communicate with you. If there's a problem with your order, we want to resolve it and get your package on its merry way. We'll try to keep everything up-to-date on the website, but with transportation costs fluctuating, we might experience another national carrier price hike that could affect our posted prices. This is where we're supposed to say they are subject to change without notice. |
Credit Cards & Taxes:
We accept Mastercard, Visa and Discover, which you can securely pay for using our shopping cart system. However, if you feel more comfortable about calling us with that information, feel free to wake up one of our staff.
Now, taxes: If you live in California, Arnold wants (i.e. insists) you help him out, so, unless you have a valid California Seller's Permit and you fill out our form, stating you're in the business of reselling a product that utilizes the stretcher bars you're purchasing, you've got to pay the piper. And, that folks is what's called a run-on sentence. |
